Château Bouffémont Wedding Florist: An Editorial Shoot in Green and Burgundy

Some châteaux dictate a palette before you've even set foot in the gardens, and Château Bouffémont is one of them. Its pink brick and pale stone called for autumn straight away, so I built this editorial shoot around a deep green and an almost-black burgundy, the way you'd think about a grape harvest. The shoot gave me the chance to show what a Château Bouffémont wedding florist can compose in a darker, more autumnal register than the pale palettes usually associated with château weddings.

The Entrance Structures, the Signature of a Château Bouffémont Wedding Florist

The carved porch at the entrance was my starting point. I built two tall structures of green hydrangeas there, punctuated with burgundy callas and long trailing amaranth, framing the door like two living columns. That's where the couple walked through laughing, hand in hand, at the end of the ceremony, the chairs still empty around them. I wanted volumes substantial enough to hold their own against the château's architecture without ever fading into it.

The Table Under the Colonnade, a Château Wedding in Green and Burgundy

The second act plays out under the colonnade, where I set a long table dressed in lime green, punctuated with tall, deep red candles. The table runner overflows with green hydrangeas, burgundy callas and trailing amaranth, mixed with clusters of black grapes and a few pears, echoing the season directly. An autumn table is composed differently from a spring one: the colours run denser, earthier. This is exactly the register I wanted to explore as a Château Bouffémont wedding florist, far from the expected palettes.

This project remains one of the ones that feels most like me, in the way it departs from the usual codes of a château wedding, darker, more autumnal than the pastel tones I'm asked for most often. Offering a design that dares to step away from white and pale pink, when the venue and the season allow it, is a part of the craft I hold particularly dear.
