Paris Wedding Proposal Florist: A Surprise on the Seine

Updated: 5 days ago
There are commissions that touch me in a particular way, and this one was one of them. A young man reached out a few weeks before the date, with one clear brief: he wanted to propose to his partner aboard a private boat on the Seine, and he needed a bouquet equal to the moment. Not a shoot, not a staged scene, but a real proposal, with all the nerves and all the joy that come with it. As a Paris wedding proposal florist, these are exactly the moments that remind me why I chose this craft.
A Paris Wedding Proposal Florist's Bouquet, for a One-of-a-Kind Moment
For a proposal, the "wow" effect has to land. I chose a blend of roses, peonies and dahlias in fuchsia, pink and white tones, a bouquet that's deliberately alive and a touch exuberant, to match the energy of the moment rather than the restraint of a ceremony. I designed it to sit in one outstretched hand, to survive a kneeling embrace without a petal out of place, and to stay vivid in photos even backlit, against the sunset over the Seine.

The Proposal on the Seine, Between Pont Alexandre III and the Eiffel Tower
The boat traced the Conciergerie and Notre-Dame before making its way up to Pont Alexandre III, then toward the Eiffel Tower. It was there, on the deck, that he got down on one knee. I love that my work lets me be, in a way, an accomplice to these moments, even from a distance: the bouquet stayed fastened to the railing for the rest of the ride, while the couple shared champagne and a few sweet bites, the city drifting slowly by behind them.

This kind of service is still not widely known, but it's a request that comes up more and more at Maison Godin, and I'm always available to design the bouquet for a surprise like this one, anywhere in Paris.
